Moving in

Chapter 43   Finding out the truth
“Wow, I can believe you have so much stuff in that little room, look how crowded our apartment is!,” looking over all the boxes on the floor of the foyer. One side of his mouth curls in cheeky air.
“What!? What do you mean? I have hardly anything!” I protest.
Winking, I catch the sarcasm and have to add. “Just wait till we clean out my storage container!”
“Container!” worry pushes out teasing.
“I’m just glad Gerry and Chris could help with the move, without them we’d have taken forever. Maybe we can order a pizza for dinner; I’m too tired to cook.”
“That sounds like a perfect idea.”
“Let’s wait till they come back up and we can all decide together what to order.”
“I’m so sorry I can’t stay I have something urgent I need to deal with and it can’t wait. It will take about an hour, 2 at the most. Make yourself at home. There’s lots of food in the fridge, fully stocked bar, maybe go easy on that….. I know you and tequila too well.” Winking. “Have a bath if you wish movies whatever you wish. This isn’t how I pictured our first night together.” He reaches for me with both hands and pull my face to his, and kisses my lips open and deeply. I can feel his hot breath in my mouth. I feel a pull of desire.
I make a little MMMMM sound. I’m just so turned on by this man.
“It’s ok I’ll be here when you get back! I live here now.”
 “Hold that thought!” Brad says.
 “Just hurry back!”
“I love you.”  Feeling so relaxed that we just made love. I go into the kitchen and grab a tetra pack orange juiced from the fridge; I take a glass out the cupboard and pore myself a drink.  Walking towards the bathroom I decide to take a shower. Step out of the shower, dry off my skin .The mirror is completely steamed up. I reach up with a towel to clear it and instead I decide to wonder around, look the place over, maybe some snooping, is that bad I ask myself.  I’ll let the mirror dry on its own; I grab a bath towel and wrap it around me. With a twinge of thrill I venture to the kitchen. The loft is huge…expansive, with a full view of the English bay.  Old time dark wood floors throughout the space perfect for dancing, all I need is a bar and full wall of mirrors, I giggle to myself. The walls are all in the grey tones, dark to almost white.   It’s grand for sure but, surprisingly cozy and inviting structure. I could see myself here with Jack on the couch reading the paper drinking coffee, or cooking dinner together and maybe more fresh flowers. Bridgett Jones comes to mind “please don’t chuck me!”
Behind the kitchen is a super tall almost ebony merengue door and instead of a knob it’s just a solid nickel handle, maybe 15 inches long. I grab hold and pull on metal; it’s smooth and cool to touch. I run my hand over the handle, up and down it feel great in my palm.
My other hand strokes the grain of the door; it’s soft and smells of wood polish.  Obviously an important room because of the grandeur of this entry.  Pulling on the handle, it feels heavy and it takes me a little more mussel to open.  I discover a wine room, slightly cooler than the rest of the loft but, only by a few degrees, the lights pop on as I enter, ping ping ping, and must be halogen, cool! Refrigerators filled with wine, white wine presume, cover one wall. Square cubical cover the opposite wall in that same dark merange wood, each cubical holds  wood in an x shape made of the same wood  so, it looks like an x in a square. Wine rest on the bottle’s side on the x’s so, it easily separated. I pull a random bottle out “Chianti Ruffino, the same wine from the restaurant,” I think back to The Bibo.  There are 20 squares in total and they are all filled will red wines yes a pretty important room, there must be $1000.00s worth of wine being stored here. The re-wining room, where we keep the wine we drink after a day of whining. I should have socks, floor is chilling my toes I’ll remember that next time.  I’m so impressed with no only the layout but, the thought and planning that went into the apartment. He certainly knew what he wanted. This man is amazing!  As I leave the room I pull the door shut tightly closed behind me. Next to the wine room is the laundry room, I open the door it’s fresh, white and bright, a few wicker baskets on the floor but, most everything is tidy and in a designated place. I try to imagine Brad doing his own laundry, the thought makes me smile. I love this man, he needs me to look after him, and I feel my heart swell. There is a workout room is beside the laundry. Mirrors climb the wall from floor to ceiling, rubber mats cover the floor. It’s simple but, very well equipped. Stair climber, treadmill , bike, rowing machine and weights, and a rack full of towels and another loaded with magazines. Sterio system. MMMMM work out room, nice.  I continue to the office, I’ve been in this room before. It’s pretty basic in a rich manor,  From the mahogany desk  and  the oversized  cream  leather swivel chair to the  large screen Mac computer and in out box on the desk. Very understated. Very simple. I love that about him he’s not pretentions, very simple tastes very simple needs. I don’t think I could be happier.
